The past few weeks, I have been reading 'Healing: unplugged Conversations and Insights from Two Veteran Healing Leaders' by Bill Johnson and Randy Clarke. This book is exactly what it advertises itself as. It's an "unplugged conversation." The book is a revised transcription of a late night conversation between the two authors. But to fully appreciate this book, you already have to know what the "Toronto Blessing" is. They explain it early on, in parenthesis, but to fully grasp their dialog I think the book assumes that the reader is already familiar with the event, and also with the authors.
A few key ideas jump out from the book:
They travel alot. Toronto, Brazil, Korea. These guys are not your home-based local church pastors.
They have both seen many many miracles.
There is a huge focus on the supernatural.
I am relatively new to the emerging global faith healing movement, but I have heard of Bill Johnson, and I have read one of his books When Heaven Invades Earth. For other newbies, I recommend reading 'When Heaven Invades Earth' instead of this book. But if you already have read other Bill Johnson books, and/or Randy Clarke books, this one may be the book for you.
In full disclosure, I received this book at no cost from Chosen publications in exchange for a book review.
